Google Home Assistant Set up for Rain Bird 1.0 App
This guide walks you through how to use your Rain Bird WiFi-enabled controller with the Google Assistant*. To enable, you’ll need to ensure you have:
- Rain Bird WiFi-ready controller with the LNK WiFi Module installed
- An Android or iOS smart device with the latest Rain Bird app installed
- For iOS: Download the Google Assistant app along with the Google Home app from the Apple App Store
To interact with your Google/Nest Home device, simply say “OK Google” or “Hey Google” followed by your desired action.
*Google Assistant integration is only available in the United States, Canada, India, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Open the Rain Bird app and select the controller that you want to link to the Google Assistant

Tap on the settings icon and enter your controller’s password.

Expand the Connected Home section in the settings menu and enter the email address associated with your Google Assistant.

Toggle the Google Home switch on. You will receive an alert indicating activation of Google is successful.

Tap done.

Open the Google Home app

Select the + button to add a device

Select ‘Set up device’

Under ‘Works with Google’ select ‘Have something already set up?’.

Find Rain Bird in the list or search for Rain Bird by tapping the icon on the top right

Enter the same Gmail account email you entered in the Rain Bird app as well as your Rain Bird controller password and select ‘LOG-IN’.

Select the controller you want to link to the Google Assistant and select ‘next’.

Select the location for your Rain Bird controller and select ‘next’.

Congratulations, your Rain Bird WiFi controller is now Google Assistant enabled!
