How Will I Know When My ESP-BAT-BT Batteries Need to be Replaced?

Every time you connect to ESP-BAT-BT, the Rain Bird 2.0 App receives the controller’s current battery status. After you leave the site, predictive battery monitoring uses the controller’s programming and last known battery information to estimate how the batteries are being depleted over time.

The app makes it clear whether you’re viewing a current or predicted battery status:

  • Connected: The latest battery status is displayed as green, orange, or red.
  • Not connected: The predicted battery status is shown in gray with a question mark, indicating that it is an estimate rather than a current reading.
  • Battery predicted to reach 30%: The controller’s map pin and battery indicator turn red, helping you identify controllers that may need attention before your next visit.

Each time someone reconnects to the controller, the app receives a fresh battery reading and the prediction is updated—helping crews plan battery replacements instead of discovering a dead battery after irrigation has been missed.
